The Institute has introduced the new scheme of education and training w.e.f. 1st October 2001. Professional Education Course-I has replaced foundation course, Professional Education Course-II has replaced c.a. inter and CA Final new scheme has Replaced CA Final old scheme.

Objectives of the New Scheme

  • To attract young talented students having aptitude for accounting education to make an early entry to the profession.
  • To ensure entry to only those students who have the potential for successfully completing the course.
  • To improve the overall quality of education and training and the competency of the member of the profession.
  • To equip students with the knowledge and ability to meet the challenges facing the profession and developing their faculties of reasoning, analyzing and judgment.
  • To help students in inculcating a disciplined attitude for hard work, developing necessary skills in applying theoretical knowledge to practical situations.
  • To help students in acquiring professional and ethical values and attitudes.
  • To facilitate more concentrated practical training to articled clerks who join the course with more maturity and with better knowledge of relevant theoretical subjects.
  • To provide special emphasis on relevant dynamic changes in environment including in information technology.

Requirements for becoming a Chartered Accountants

  • Enroll with the institute for the professional education (pe) course prior to commencement of practical training and successful completion of pe-i and pe-ii examination.
  • Completion of a compulsory computer training programme, as per the specification of the institute, prior to joining practical training. This computer training is of 250 hours and can be obtained from any of the following accredited computer firms.
    Aptech
    NIIT
    SSI
    First Computers
  • Undergoing practical for three years under a practicing CA.
    Passing the Final Examination.

Attend the compulsory course on general management and communication skills or any other course that may be specified by the council, after completing the practical training and before applying for the membership.
